Madhukant Sawant is a seasoned marine insurance professional currently serving as Senior Consultant – Claims Advocacy and Vice President at Marsh. With over a decade of experience in the marine claims domain, his career reflects a deep-rooted expertise in Protection & Indemnity (P&I) correspondence, coverage issues, and complex claim settlements.

Previously, he led the Marine Claims Division at Crowe Boda and Company Private Limited as General Manager, where he was instrumental in handling intricate P&I matters and devising strategic solutions for major maritime insurers. His tenure at Maersk as a Marine Operations and Claims Advisor further sharpened his proficiency in managing charterers’ liability and operational risk.

Beginning his maritime career at sea, he served aboard tankers and bulk carriers, gaining hands-on experience in ship operations. He later transitioned to a technical role with a classification society, adding a critical layer of regulatory and compliance insight to his profile.

Academically, he holds a degree in Marine Engineering from MANET, India, a Post Graduate qualification in Shipping Management from NMIS, and is a Licentiate and Diploma holder in Marine Insurance from the Insurance Institute of India.
