His practice spans both wet and dry shipping claims, with particular expertise in insurance coverage disputes, liability claims and recovery actions arising from collisions, casualties, fires, groundings, salvage, oil pollution, constructive total loss (CTL) claims and cargo damage. He also advises on charterparty disputes, trade finance insurance claims, and the enforcement of foreign arbitration awards and judgments. Saif has extensive experience advising on coverage disputes involving P&I, hull and machinery (H&M), war risks and cargo insurance policies. He is frequently called upon to assist clients in urgent situations, including the repatriation of abandoned crew and ship arrests arising from insured losses. He also advises insurers on subrogation rights, claims mitigation strategies and compliance with local laws and regulations.
